Hi, I'm Jade Emilee Frederick. I was born on October 1, 1993. I grew up in Defiance, Ohio, a small town in the northwest corner. My high school is known for producing some great MLB and college league pitchers. Being active has always been a big part of my life. I played volleyball and basketball in high school. Besides playing, I enjoy watching sports. I have one brother who is 8 years older than me, he influenced my love of sports. He currently resides in Alaska working for the Coast Guard. My mother is one of my best friends, I am able to talk to her about anything. Her love of teaching is what really encouraged my decision to become a teacher. My favorite foods consist of mashed potatoes, steak, and shrimp. I am currently a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority here at UC.
Career Goals:
I am currently a first year student at The University of Cincinnati, and majoring in Special Education. I hope to work with younger kids. I want to have a positive impact on children, like my teachers did on me. I hope to one day move out of Ohio and work in one of the Carolina's. My dream would be able to travel all over and be able to teach many different ethnicities.
Goals for this course:
For this course, I hope to better advance myself in technology and make it fun for my students. I would love to be able to better incorporate technology into a child's life who has severe learning disabilities.
This collage contains some of Andy Warhol's pop art. This collage was created to portray the idea of fair use when it comes to using images on the internet. Although Warhol used name brands and copyrighted images in his artwork, it is not considered stealing because he altered the images to create his own understanding of the original. Therefore, Warhol would not get in trouble for using the specific images. This relates to the fourth standard because it promotes informed decision making when it comes to incorporating images in classroom projects.
